Try again Donny

I work with a guy who was telling me he tryed soo hard to get into the military so he could go to afgahnistan and kill some "towel heads". The only problem is that he was in jail until shortly after 911 for passing bad checks or something stupid like that, and of course our military doesnt take felons and such.
We got to talking about Iraq and the recent events in Fallujah. He seems to be all gung-ho for the war saying stuff like "I wanted to defend my country" and "that was fucked up what they did on 911" etc. I said to him " dude, not to be a dick or anything, but seeing as how I spend alot of time pouring over the news and surfing the internet I was wondering who you thought was responsible for 911?" He says osamma So I say " ok, and what did sadaam have to do with it?" and he says nothing. OK, I had to clear that up with him cause sometimes when I'm talking with people I'm not sure if we're on the same page. I spend so much time looking at news I forget that most of the people around me dont have a clue.
Anyway, after shooting the shit a little more about the war he's telling me theres no way he'd go to Iraq. He explained how he wanted to go to afghanistan to find and kill the people who attacked us and for the most part I guess I'd have to agree (although its a little more complicated than that.)
He told me about the whole recruting process and such and how he was all tore up when he found out he couldnt go etc. So I convinced him to call again and see what they had to say now. I told him how hard up the army was for fresh blood and I'm sure they'd be more than willing to bend the rules and let a convicted felon who's currently on parole, serve his country.
So the following day he comes to work and tells me he called and talked to the very same recruiter that rejected him for being a bad check writer and the guy recognized him and Donny reminded him how he's been rejected before and how he was on parole and such and the recruiter told him not only would he be able to get him in the army in spite of him doing time but he'd also be able to make sure his parole obligations would be erased and when he got home from his tour of duty he'd be a free man!! WOW. it really is getting drafty in here.
